About Us

Ohr Hatorah was founded on Yom Kippur 5767 (2007) in Phoenix, Arizona by a group of people dedicated to creating a Shul that focused on the personal growth of each individual member

Our Mission is to build a warm, welcoming Orthodox Shul in North Central Phoenix, a spiritual home to families, children, and all Jews, regardless of their level of knowledge or observance; a Makom Torah which encourages and fosters a yearning for personal and communal growth; a place where families & children experience the joy of Torah and Mitzvos. Our Rabbi is Rav Shimon Green and we enjoy a special relationship with the Phoenix Community Kollel and the presence of many Rabbi & Rebbitzens in our community.

Torah Learning, Prayer  and Chesed

the Three Pillars of our Mission

At OHT Prayer, Torah study and Chesed  that is meaningful and accessible to everyone is a fundamental part of the Shul experience. The centerpiece of this approach is our Shabbos morning half-hour Torah study Multiplex with three different classes for both Men and Women.  No one is left out. Every OHT event and program focuses on deepening our personal Prayer, Torah knowledge and communal committment to Chesed.
Our Children, Our Future
Nothing is more important to us than our children. At OHT we seek to include our children not only in our hearts but in activities and programs. We seek to create an environment that role models for our children how we hope they will develop as adults. We create opportunities for them to feel like they are at the center of our communal life and seek for them to learn to emulate our goals of Torah, Avodah and Gemilus Chassadim, Prayer,  Torah study and Loving Kindness  .
